Thanksgiving is just around the corner and soon we’ll all be laughing and feasting together! We usually have a fairly large get together of friends and family so it’s totally casual in our house with disposable plates and napkins. Who wants to be stuck in the kitchen cleaning when you could be watching football together? I made these super easy Thanksgiving DIY utensil holders to make it convenient for my guests to grab and go, plus they’ll look great on the table too!
Supplies needed to make your own Thanksgiving DIY utensil holders:
- Give Thanks & Celebrate Embossing Folder
- Fall Words Border Embossing Folder
- Textured Cardstock
- Core’dinations Sand It Set
- Embossing Machine
- Hercules Double Sided Tape
Step 1. Choose the color of cardstock that will match your existing Thanksgiving decor the best. Use embossing folders and embossing machine to create embossed panels. Use the Core’dinations Sand It Set to distress the raised edges and really make the words and designs pop!
Step 2. Using the embossed panel as a guide, create a pocket shape from a coordinating color of cardstock. Apply the double sided tape to the edges and fold to secure. If necessary, trim the outer edge of the embossed panel to fit perfectly on the front of the pocket. Apply tape to the back and stick in place. Make the napkin holder by simply applying a bit of the double sided tape to one end and attaching it to the other. Super easy!
Step 3. All that’s left to do is add your Thanksgiving utensils and place on the table for all your guests to enjoy!
I’m definitely planning on making all of my Thanksgiving DIY utensil holders ahead of time to store in a basket that will be transferred to the table on the big day. I love working on craft projects that look beautiful but actually are quite useful as well. Hope you have a great holiday season!
Thanksgiving dinner is the perfect time to talk about all the things your family is grateful for.
